Apply to the Daily Bruin

There are 9 editorial departments of the Daily Bruin that offer internships, including Daily Bruin TV.

There are more than 200 students involved in the production of The Bruin.

The paper is independent of the university and all content is created and edited by students. UCLA's journalism department dissolved in the 1970s and the Communications Department is not affiliated with the Daily Bruin. As a result, The Bruin takes journalism training very seriously.

No prior experience is required of students who'd like to apply to participate, but accepted applicants will be required to attend mandatory training workshops.

APPLYING IS A THREE-STEP PROCESS:

1. READ: Access www.studentmedia.ucla.edu, selected "Apply to the Media," and use the links on the left to select a department and then carefully READ the information page for the department you've selected.

2. REGISTER ONLINE: Continue on www.studentmedia.ucla.edu by selecting "Click to Apply." You will be directed to the personal information form, which you must complete.

3. SUBMIT PAPER APPLICATION: Once you've completed the personal information form, you will be given a link to download the paper portion of your application. Please download, complete and return your application to Kerckhoff Hall 118 by the deadline stated in Step 1.

We can accept just one application per student. This means that you may only select one medium at Student Media to apply to, and within that medium, you may only apply to one department.

A Daily Bruin open house is held the first Wednesday of each quarter for more information. Locations and times will be announced each quarter as they are finalized.
