Masquerade Ball

One of the highlights of Comic-Con is a masquerade ball that takes place on Saturday night. People come dressed to the nines to mix and mingle with fellow fanatics. And for those not content to just sway to the music, there is a stage for those seeking extra attention. Here is a ranking of the top five most attention-grabbing revelers at the masquerade.

Joss Whedon

Joss Whedon, the executive producer of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Angel” and other sci-fi series, announced that he was in talks with the BBC about “Ripper,” the Buffy spin-off about the life of Rupert Giles in England. He also discussed a script he cowrote called “Cabin in the Woods,” which according to him is the horror movie to end all horror movies. And though he didn’t say much, he mentioned that a Spike movie is finally taking flight.

After camping out in Hall H for a good five hours Saturday, I had high expectations for the Marvel panel, and they did not disapoint.

Rogue/Focus Pictures Panel

I have no idea who came to Comic-Con in anticipation of the ping-pong comedy “Balls of Fury,” but whoever stuck around in Hall H to catch the panel at least got their laugh quota filled for the day.

“Bionic Woman”

They’ve rebuilt the “Bionic Woman." She’s better, stronger, faster – not to mention modern, darker, British.

“Pushing Daisies”

Early birds got a special preview of ABC’s new show “Pushing Daisies” on Saturday morning.

“Chuck”

It is hard to believe that a show that has yet to air could have such a large following, but such is the case with NBC’s “Chuck.”

The air conditioning may have been on full blast in Hall H on Friday afternoon, but you couldn’t tell once Clive Owen walked onstage.

“Harry Potter” Fan Group Meeting

Fans began lining up at 12:30 p.m., the panel was supposed to start at 1:30, but by 1:55 there were still no signs of the Mugglenet.com staffers who were scheduled to lead the discussion of all things Potter.
