Going into the Pac-10 Multi-Event Championships in Tempe, Ariz., the men’s and the women’s track and field teams had a common goal – to get some points on the board. In their last meet before the start of the postseason, the men’s and women’s track and field teams turned in more solid results over the weekend and look to carry the momentum into the upcoming meets. With the Pac-10 Championships and Western Regionals coming up in the next couple weeks, the No. 5 women’s and No. 7 men’s track and field teams are looking to send a few more athletes with competition in two meets this weekend. For many track and field athletes, excelling at one event is challenging enough. For the men’s track and field team, the dual meet versus USC finished the way it started: with the Bruins huddled in the middle of the track doing an 8-clap. It’s often said that history has a way of repeating itself. Unfortunately, that was not true for the UCLA women’s track and field team this past weekend.
